5G&SC - RF Hardware Engineer
RF Hardware Design Engineer to develop 5G mmWave and <6GHz SmallCell Base Station Products. Seeking MSEE with significant course work in RF/Analog circuit design. Will consider BSEE with significant RF/Analog intern/project experience.
Main Responsibility Area:
This is a RF circuit design position. It IS NOT an RF field installation or Field optimization position
This position has responsibility for specifying, planning, reporting, designing, reviewing and validating radio hardware circuitry. Candidate has course work experience in one or more areas of RF design expertise; RX, TX, Synthesizer, Antennas, or Power Amplifier circuit design and test .Will work under the direction of Principal Engineers and with team members of other engineering disciplines to create engineering solutions at sub-system/system component level.
Job Description
Work as part of a product development focused engineering team located in the northwest Chicago suburbs that is responsible for the development of 5G Wireless infrastructure hardware architectures. Specific activities include definition of functional and interface requirements for major hardware components and subsystems, support for platform and product integration, and identification, evaluation, and integration of new technologies. The group also provides engineering support to Supply Chain for products in production and to Global Market Teams for field issues as necessary.
Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations
RF Hardware R&D Engineers will;
- Design, build, optimize and test electronic circuits from baseband through 6 GHz. Specific focus on LTE bands.
- Identify design issues and propose solutions.
- Test and evaluate individual circuits as well as overall systems.
- Specify and evaluate new components to assure proper performance.
- Adhere to NSN engineering processes, including the maintenance of accurate documentation
- Work in a global engineering team environment soliciting and sharing expertise with other NSN engineers as necessary.
- Generate and maintain specifications.
- Guide vendors in custom device/product development.
- Support product integration and applications.
- Must be able to travel internationally to support prototype manufacturing or customer deployment
Additional Requirements
Experience in any of the following areas is a plus;
mmWave design experienec 24~40GHz
Work experience in RF hardware circuit design development, implementation and/or validation testing.
Experience in RF circuit design/layout/&test
Experience in the evaluation of Receiver, Transmitter and/or Power Amplifier lineups
Experience in the use of RF simulation tools
Experience in the use of RF test equipment usage.
Experience in the analysis and presentation of RF test data
Experience with Design for Six Sigma, and Design for Manufacturability
Familiarity with HFSS, CST, ADS, Mentor, LabView, Python, & Microsoft office apps
