The team you’ll be part of

Bell Labs Consulting (BLC) serves the world’s leading Communication Service Providers and Enterprises, enabling them to capture the full potential of network technologies.

You will be part of an expert, multi-disciplinary team that uses technology expertise, bold technology theses, ‘future-back’ foresight and deep, techno-economic analyses to help C-Suite teams evaluate the potential of next generation technologies to drive bottom- and top-line growth, embark on new markets and strategies, and improve the safety, productivity, and efficiency of their industrial operations.

BLC works in conjunction with Nokia Bell Labs, the world-renowned research arm of Nokia, having invented many of the foundational technologies that underpin information and communications networks and all digital devices and systems. This research has produced nine Nobel Prizes, five Turing Awards and numerous other awards.

What you will learn and contribute to

We seek a Consultant with expertise in developing quantitative financial models that capture the economic value of new telecommunications technologies and solutions to support strategic consulting engagements.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide fact-based insights and recommendations to help customers make well-informed, strategic decisions
  • Develop quantitative models towards market analysis and Nokia revenue potential of new technologies and services. Develop models to capture the resulting macro-economic impact.
  • Develop detailed cost models of various telecommunications solutions specific to various customer and Nokia implementation contexts
  • Develop optimized business models of telecommunications technologies, services and solutions for service providers, enterprises and other Nokia customers based on quantified revenues, costs, and risks
  • Collaborate with other BLC team members in creating whitepapers, presentations, and web collateral to grow BLC thought leadership

Your Skills and experience 

You have:

  • A M.Sc./M.S. or a higher degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Science, or related field, or an M.B.A. with analytical field experience in the ICT Industry
  • 3 or more years of industry experience
  • Strong analytical and model development skills relevant to wireless, wireline, and cloud networks and services.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with experts from technology, marketing, and finance domains
  • Ability to work in an international multi-disciplinary team environment.

It would be nice if you also have:

  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: wireless and wireline network architectures and technologies; cloud; IT networks, software, and operations; network automation, artificial intelligence/machine learning/ analytics
  • Ability to analyze and create financial statements
  • Experience with data visualization techniques and tools (such as Tableau)
  • Experience in programming (such as Visual Basic, R, Python)
  • Knowledge of the industrial enterprise market.
