Bell Labs - Integrated Silicon Photonics Signal Processing and Smart Sensing Researcher
Required Qualifications: (Education, Technical Skills/Knowledge)
· Ph.D degree in electrical engineering with a minimum of 3 years of experience
· Demonstrated hands-on experiences and publications in implementing real-time DSP algorithms for synchronization, frequency locking and phase estimation, utilizing energy efficient DSP algorithms to reduce energy consumption and mitigate transmission impairments in optic fiber telecommunication systems.
· Working knowledge and understanding of the advanced modulation formats and transmission impairments in optic and wireless communications.
· Working knowledge of OCT and physiological sensing techniques, devices and experimental systems.
· Working knowledge of advanced high speed electronic and Silicon and III-V photonic devices and systems for 40 Gb/s to 100Gb/s optic fiber applications
· Demonstrated hands-on experience and publications in real-time DSP algorithm, MatLab simulation, and FPGA or ASIC implementation using modern electronic and optical test equipment such as optical transmission test sets, optical spectrum analysis, network analyzers, OTDRs, high speed optical sources and detectors, amplifiers, optical polarimeter, etc.
· Ability to independently implement advanced research programs with technical analysis, laboratory demonstration and programmatic transition plans to brief internal and international customer personnel.

· Demonstrated expertise and publications in implementing real-time energy efficient modulation formats and signal processing techniques for optic fiber data links at greater than 10 Gb/s data rate.
· Laboratory experience on design, assembling, integrating, and testing electronic and coherent optical systems at 40 to 100Gb/s.
· Experience of processing advanced signaling and digital processing for optic interconnect and transport applications.
