Bell Labs Researcher for 5G V2X networking (m/w)
Area of work:
- Carry out groundbreaking research in design of wireless access networks for 5G systems and beyond, e.g. protocol and cross- layer optimization, service enablement, performance assessment (system simulation) and prototyping.
- Bring strong research knowledge and expertise to a cross-disciplinary team, contribute to the definition of research programs, project objectives and work plans.
- Propose and publish research in major research forums worldwide.
- Generate Intellectual Properties Rights
- Create and maintain strong collaborative associations with university-based researchers, other leading research bodies, product business units and government agencies.
- Succesful candidates hold a PhD degree in Communication Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Computer Science or a related discipline with
- Expert knowledge in wireless access network architectures, protocols and/or E2E service delivery. Knowledge about 3GPP standards and 5G research.
- Experience in performance analysis or simulations, preferably in LTE-V2X or 802.11p networks, radio channel and traffic modelling, performance study.
- Track record of publications, projects and/or patents.
- Ability to conduct independent research while also contributing to interdisciplinary, team-oriented projects. Ability to work in a collaborative environment amongst business as well as academic partners.
- Highly engaged and hands-on personality, versatile and a self-starter.
- Programming Skills: C++, Matlab, Scripting Tools, Linux Environment, Shell Scripting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, can express him/herself fluently in English. German language skills are helpful but not required.
