  • M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. A PhD is a plus.
  • Significant knowledge of Mobile Radio Access (5G, LTE(-A) / small cells / Cloud RAN) technologies including their standardization (3GPP, ETSI NFV/ZSM), alliances (ORAN) and open source platforms (ONAP)
  • Understanding of network operation use cases and existing operability / automation concepts (e.g., LTE Self Organizing Networks)
  • Experience in standardisation support and IPR creation, track record of relevant IPR and publications
  • Good knowledge of Analytics and Artificial Intelligence methods: statistical, probabilistic (e.g., Bayesian Networks), machine learning techniques; rule- / policy-based systems
  • Understanding of Network Management frameworks (e.g., eTOM), architectures, protocols (e.g., NETCONF), information models and functions (PM, CM, FM)
  • Background in Distributed Systems / IT & Software Technologies
  • Good practical SW and experimental skills (setup / installation of Linux/GNU-based systems, C/C++/Java/python/matlab & R programming, development of experimental systems / demos)
  • Ability to work autonomously on complex research issues (incl. project management experience)
  • Ability to supervise subcontractors and students
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken
