Product data management (PDM) means processes to create, maintain and distribute information related to Nokia products and services. Product master data enables various business processes e.g. in product management, R&D, sales, orders and deliveries, manufacturing, procurement, and customer care.

 

In Nokia, product master data is managed in dedicated PDM tools, from where the data is integrated to tens of other business applications utilizing the product data. Nokia PDM tools are used globally, by thousands of users worldwide, both by Nokia internal employees and external collaboration parties.

 

We are now looking for product data management concept owners into our global PDM development and support team. The team contributes to the development of global PDM processes, concepts, and tools, and provides back office business support within the Nokia PDM process and tool ecosystem.

 

The Concept Owner creates and maintains the product data management rules, policies, methods, and guidelines/instructions, that need to be applied in Nokia PDM processes, and which need to be supported by the relevant IT tools and integrations. Work is mainly organized into IT development projects, and there can be several projects running parallel. Main tasks are to:

  • Document and analyze business requirements.

  • Create and maintain PDM concept documentation in own responsibility area.

  • Ensure business requirements are correctly understood/captured into IT specifications.

  • Ensure IT implementation in respective tool and process landscape is according to the requirements.

  • Provide training and advice to the users of PDM tools, acting as a subject matter expert contact.

The position offers a grandstand view to the world of complex product master data management and related business processes in a large, globally working high tech company.

 
Additional requirements:
  • Effective networking capabilities and comfortable in multicultural environment and working in virtual teams.
  • Team player with an open and transparent communication style.
  • Excellent written and oral communication in English.
  • Analytical mind, thoroughness.
  • Technical education and/or work experience, skills, and mindset for being able to understand complex technical process and functional specifications is required. 
Knowledge and experience of process management, product management, product engineering, or product data management methods and tools is an advantage.
