Strong technical skills: in IP, wireless, cloud/SDN, applications/IoT, to understand the specifics of customer requirements, analyse them and recommend appropriate solutions. In addition, the candidate must demonstrate an ability and motivation to expand one’s own technical and professional knowledge while keeping up-to-date on the latest advances in Customers' industries: knowledge of, and insight into general business principles and practices of the targeted market segments. In this respect, a hands-on experience of a key segment (transportation, energy, public sector) is a plus.
Sales skills: The candidate needs to be able to manage, articulate and support the sales activity. As with any sales professional, the Customer Solution Architect need strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbally and in writing. The candidate must be persuasive in his presentations and persistent in pursuing leads. This goes together with a willingness to help and serve others and meet their needs whether they be internal or external customers - this being key to build long-term relationships with clients and peers.
