Nokia Small Cells L2/L3 CSS Engineer

Job description:

To provide Level 2 end to end support for Nokia Small Cells portfolio, which includes RAN (e.g. 9363, 9961, 9962 and 9966 (MS-GW) and OAM (Security Gateway, AAA, HDM, SAM, NPO) products, which are part of Small Cells end to end solution. Technologies involved are 3G, 4G LTE and in future 5G / IoT.
 
The ideal candidate should possess excellent end to end Small Cells network knowledge and an extensive Telecom Test/ Engineering Support background to provide resolutions to the problems.
 
 Key responsibilities / Functions:

  • Work with customer engineering teams to drive resolution for customer LIVE network issues and provide product KPI performance and stability trends.   
  • Provide 24/7 remote support within SLAs to customer issues and regularly update ticketing tool
  • Actively engage with customer teams to recreate complex field to get to the root cause and final resolution fix plan.
  • Provide next level of support for internal maintenance L1 team or customer support teams by:
    • Providing analysis to product issues of world-wide customers and ensuring timely resolution in line with the commercial SLA’s.
    • Will be responsible for remotely supporting SW/HW deployment during and after general availability rollout in the customer live network.
    • Providing 24/7 Level 2 support for critical customer impacting issues
       
 
Required Qualifications: (Education, Technical Skills/Knowledge):


  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, in Electronics, Telecommunication, Computer Science, Information Technologies
  • Up to 8 years of experience in supporting live wireless and IP networks across different technologies (3G, UMTS, WCDMA, 4G, LTE, 5G, IoT, NB-IoT, GSM, SS7) and prior experience in Small Cells technologies is desirable.
  • Must have excellent problem trouble shooting skill in areas of complex end to end live network issues, product interoperability, product performance and stability related trending and analysis. 
  • Knowledge on Tools & techniques of Wireshark, TEMS / UE traces, TCP Dump, Core dump analysis, iPerf is desirable
  • Protocol knowledge of SCTP, RANAP, S1AP, RLC, RRC, TR069
  • Should have experience and working knowledge in Linux OS, TCP/IP, IPv4, IPv6, Wifi and general scripting ability in Perl, Shell, Expect etc. 
  • Excellent verbal, written communication skills to breakdown a technical issue and explain it clearly to customer and internal teams
