The ION EPC NI Engineer acts as the primary expert in technical issues assisting the ION EPC Technical Manager on Evolved Packet Core Network Integration.
ION EPC NI Engineer works typically on configuration and integration activities oon complex networks, shares their among several customers under the ION TPM supervisionand deals with challenging technology areas (Nokia MME, SAE-Gw, and ePDG integration, Expert Support, On-line SW Change Service, Interoperability testing (IOT) combined BGs projects.
 
Technical skills and qualifications:

 

  • Deep knowledge of mobile packet core networks and functionality of GGSN, SGSN, SAE-GW and MME.
  • Familiar with GPRS and 2G/3G/4G networks and interfaces
  • Experience and knowledge of GSM/Packet-Core/EPC networks, routing and signaling; and GPRS call flow concept with all PS core nodes including Gb, Gr, Gn, Gi, Gx, Gy,Gz interfaces.

·         Commissioning, integration, and troubleshooting of ATCA SGSN/GGSN and virtualized solutions (CMM/CMG). Other Packet Core products is a plus.

  •  Knowledge of adjacent third-party NE’s: Infoblox DNS, Checkpoint FW, Juniper and Cisco Routers/Switches.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Packet Core services and customer interface preferred. NI/Care

 

Non-technical skills and qualifications::

 

  • Team player with excellent written and verbal communications skills in Spanish and English. 
  • Self-motivated well-organized individual who can follow pre-defined processes and instructions.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Ability to interact with a variety of people and work well with others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong customer communication skills.
  • Ability to learn independently

    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Communications & Electronics Engineering or similar.
    • At least 6 to 8 years of experience in Packet Core technologies.
    • Fluent in English
    • Strong communication skills
