FM Engineer
Key Tasks *
Functional
Fault Management Specialists responsible for technical support, trouble shooting and Configuration management in MS operations.
Handling Vendors & on call Technical support to field team.
Cross functional L2 support to Operations teams.
Handling Change management & resolving TT assigned to Tx operations.
Escalates the Fault details to customer, where third party involvement is required to fix the issue permanently.
Develop other team members to enhance their technical expertise
Special event management, readiness, checks and preparations
Preparation of agree SLAs on daily basis and get them review with Customer management.
Preparation of acceptance KPIs and take the appropriate actions to ensure KPIs are maintained at the agreed thresholds
Provide vendor escalation
Assist the team in process improvement
Provide emergency support
Other activities as directed by management

Competences
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• 3 to 5 years’ experience in the telecom network operations – with relevant certifications.
• Understand the general principles of Telecommunications and Service Provider Network
• Relevant hands-on experience on Transmission network is mandatory.
• Relevant hands-on experience with networks like DWDM/SDH/ATM/MW/DSL/. transmission
• Hands-on Tier2 experience on Nokia/Alcatel/Huawei/Ceragon/Fujitsu/… products highly preferred
• Candidates from Telecom Service Provider network background preferred
• Experienced in NOC/GNOC environment and ready to work in 24*7 support environment
• Knowledge in several of the multi-vendor suppliers’/equipment’s:
• DWDM/SDH/Microwave/ATM/DSL/HFC/…
Skills and background*
Technical Skills
• Working knowledge of Multi-Vendor Microwave link configuration & build
• Working knowledge of Multi- Vendor Network Management System & Element Management System
• Working Knowledge of Legacy TX equipment’s Ericsson OMS, SPO, PTN, ADM etc.
• In –depth knowledge on IP Technologies (Protocol, Routing, Tracing, MPLS -TP, OSFP, ISIS, BGP etc.)
• Working Knowledge of Legacy DWDM multi-vendor products OSN 1800, OSN 6800, OSN8800, MHL300 etc.
• Working Knowledge of IP products ATN, CX, X1, X2 Routers etc.
• In –depth knowledge on Transmission Technologies (PDH, SDH, SONET, OTN, DWDM)
• Excellent understanding of field issues and troubleshooting methods
• Good knowledge in GSM, WCDMA & LTE
• Good knowledge in Radio Protocols.
• CCNA & CCNP Certification will be added advantage.
Background
• 3+ years’ experience in telecommunications or related industry
• Experience in Fault Management and configuration, preferably Manage Services
