Are you ready to join our Brand and Marketing Communications team and contribute to building the world’s best-in-class, audience-centric marketing organization? The Brand and Marketing Communications team leads and maintains our brand strategy, corporate positioning and aligns our messaging as well as provides a range of shared services to the rest of the organization, including marketing technology, experience centers, online, digital and marketing communications services.



Roles/Responsibilities:
Creates, develops, aligns, and implements impactful and audience-centric messaging and content to drive clear differentiated communications to all relevant audiences, and channels.  The messaging manager ensures that message development and best practices are applied to the planning and development of campaign and program messaging and that consistent messaging is delivered throughout campaign content and cohesive communications across our many mediums such as media, web, social, events. He/She will be an active and integral member of numerous segment squads and will provide expertise and guidance to ensure all messaging is persona-based, includes clear Nokia differentiation, and aligns with the buyers’ journey.  The lead will ensure we build strong cross-functional relationships across marketing and various channel owners and strengthens our capability to co-create compelling storylines towards key business objectives. This is a global role reporting to the Head of Messaging.

Key responsibilities:

  • Create a clear and cohesive corporate Nokia story that ladders from corporate position through and between Segment messaging.
  • Evolve Nokia corporate position for clarity with a competitive edge and drive alignment through a messaging framework.
  • Ensure everyone understands, embraces, and embeds our corporate positioning throughout marketing content and communications.  This includes consistent messaging that ladders from our corporate message through and between our Segment messages.
  • Shape persona-driven, needs-based campaign messaging and content for all audiences and channels that clearly articulates Nokia differentiation.
  • Provide guidance to content owners by sharing online and offline content best practices, guidelines and templates for coherent approach, and participate in discussion on audience targeting, voice & tone backed by a solid understanding of business and product goals.
  • Create a compelling experience for web visitors across our web presence from “home page” and ‘About us’ to “Campaign & Product” sections and “call to actions” by providing a clear message on what we do and the value we provide.
  • Develop and manage external online editorial plans and calendar, providing cross company coordination and governance for key Nokia segments and business lines who oversee the standardization and creation of engaging online content.
  • Develop the storyline and messaging for several corporate events including: Mobile World Congress Barcelona, Shanghai, Americas, Annual General Meeting, Capital Markets Day, and the Global Analyst Forum by leveraging Segment messaging and campaigns.
  • Coach Marketing and Communication teams on the Sirius Decisions messaging nautilus to ensure best in class practices are applied to the development of campaign and program messaging.

Background/Experience:

  • 5-10 years relevant marketing experience, with the proven ability to motivate and execute in diverse and distributed cross functional teams; global experience is a plus
  • Strong understanding of the telecommunications industry, players, needs and technologies
  • Demonstrable business writing experience

Nokia Marketing and Corporate Affairs is undergoing a fundamental shift towards audience-centric marketing, representing an evolution of Nokia's digital marketing initiative. This incorporates SiriusDecisions Go-to-Market Architecture Framework and is based on five key dials: prioritize audience segments, select buyer personas, isolate buyer needs, conduct portfolio mapping, and determine pathways to market.

This framework includes:
  • Aligning Business Groups, Customer Operations and Marketing - to identify the best way to drive revenue and build brand & thought leadership using a persona-based, go-to-market approach.
  • Focusing on the buyer’s specific business needs, and how Nokia can solve them.
  • Inspiring thoughtful interactions and leadership through the creation of messaging and creative ideas addressing these specific buyer needs - connecting, resonating and demonstrating Nokia’s understanding of the industry challenges, and how we can solve those needs in a unique and differentiated way.
  • Improving buyer interactions and content delivery of the right information when the buyer would most likely need it, and in the way they prefer to receive it.
  • Creating transparent, effective and efficient marketing activity through coordinated efforts, targeted buyer personas and collaborative teams for campaign planning, design and execution, measurement and optimization.
