Optical and Electrical Transport Engineer - ION
Education & Experiences:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication or Computer Engineering is strongly recommended

3+ years of Field Systems Commissioning, Network Integration or Technical Support experience

Skill and product knowledge of the optical and electrical transport networks including the DWDM, SONET, and TDM network.
-
Candidate must have technical skills in telecommunication networks with focus in the optical and electrical transport networks including the DWDM, SONET, and TDM network infrastructures, equipment, and services.

Have understanding of optical testing, equipment usage, optical test application and optical measurement principles.

Computer skills on using the Microsoft software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, and Outlook.

Good interpersonal and communication skills

Proven problem solving skills with experience and background in solving complex design, network, and circuit problems and issues.

Knowledge and background with AC and DC power systems, fiber optic transmission and transmission systems, and electrical cabling and transmission systems.

Experience with optical link loss budget analysis for DWDM and SONET optical links.

Knowledge and experience with network synchronization and timing distribution.
-
Knowledge and experience with telecommunications standards including Telcordia, ANSI, and ITU.
