Nokia Optics GNE Optics delivery team is responsible end-to-end to deliver all Optical professional services starting from the network design till validation of new solutions and implementation in customer network.
 
This team works directly and closely with Professional Services PLMs to understand customer professional services requirements, translate them into deliverables and works across all the Ip and Optical functions to lead, develop and deliver on-time results to our customers.
 
Currently, we are having opportunity for a software & NMS domain architect.
 
This role is responsible for definition of the architecture as well as coordinating the development activities related to applications running on top of OMS/NFM-T-NRC-T [NSP optical component].
 
It will have deep exposure in NMS integration activities (NBI related) as well as operational aspects related to transformation automation.
 
Minimum Experience Required: 5 Years.
 
Complete accountability, attitude to work in a team in project environment, good documentation skills, good communication skills towards customer and internal teams are equally important to technical knowledge and experience.
 
Essential Functions
In this role the PS SW & NMS domain architect will have the following key responsibilities:
  • Capture customer/internal requirements and translate them into specification
  • Define SW architecture and split these in workable items
  • Develop SW tools and applications on top of existing Optics NMS or NE product porfolio
  • Integrate applications, mediator, wrapper, or adapter for OSS on top of existing NBI/NMS/NE
  • Perform complex NMS transformation by means of automated transformation tools
  • Test and integrate the SW applications in customer network
  • Must have an good level of expertise on NMS/NFM-T operation and maintenance
  • Must have Expert Level Working knowledge of LINUX, UNIX and WINDOWS platforms.
  • Must have Expert Level Working on scripting Perl / Python / Shell (Linux / Unix).
  • Must have worked on Network Management systems with skills on JAVA (Soap), XML, ORACLE, MySQL, proprietary CLI
  • Skills in SW development in NBI, SBI and internal communication protocols (Corba TMF and MTOSI is a must).
  • Must know XML API (SAX, DOM)
  • Should know various Optical technologies like DWDM, SDH, ETH (EoSDH and MPLS-TP)
  • Experienced in SW integration
  • Experienced in network management and network element validation in customer premises (NPI/TAC/TEC)
  • Experience as SW arcthitect
  • Should have experience with Agile metodology
  • Should have good communication and negotiation skills to manage customer and various vendors
  • Bachelor's Degree in IT
  • 5 or more years experience in Optical networks.
  • The ability and willingness to travel as per project requirements.
  • English written and spoken is a MUST
