General Purpose of the Role/Job Position Summary Description:   

Nokia Software (NSW) is looking for a Scalability and Performance Tester for the Nokia Policy Controller

The Nokia Policy Controller is 5G ready and developed to cater for IOT demands. It is cloud native, utilizing Openstack and VMware VCloud as the VIM and works with various VNFMs. DevOps tools and automation are an integral component as well 

The Scalability and Performance Tester will be part of a team of people responsible for verifying the scale, robustness, and reliability of the Nokia Policy Controller


Key Responsibilities / Functions:   

  • Develop automated tests
  • Isolate system bottlenecks by analyzing all components that either interact with or constitute the Nokia Policy Controller
  • Debug and tune database clusters and Java applications
  • Integration Testing
  • Participate in requirements analysis, feature breakdowns, and estimates
  • Contribute to overall product improvement through strategic testing around robustness and stability
Required Minimum Qualifications: (Education, Technical Skills/Knowledge) 
  • Bachelor´s degree or equivalent experience required - candidates with a degree in Computer Science, Electrical, Computer, Software, or Systems Design Engineering will be more relevant
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in Software Development or QA
  • Experience in working on Unix/Linux Operating Systems
  • Experience working with test automation frameworks like Robot
  • Experience working with test tools and traffic generators
  • Familiar with working in an Agile (scrum) software development team
Desired Qualifications: (Education, Technical Skills/Knowledge)
  • Exposure in using VIMs like OpenStack and its Heat Orchestration Templates
  • Exposure in using VNFM like Nokia CloudBand Application Manager (CBAM)
  • Database knowledge: Operational experience in using Non-SQL DBs like Aerospike
  • Exposure to container-orchestration systems like Kubernetes
  • Experience working in the Policy domain is considered an asset
  • Experience working in Java development is considered an asset
  • Highly developed analytical and debugging skills
  • Eager to take on the challenges of working with complex systems
  • Passionate about various technologies
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • Looks forward to tackling the "challenge of the day"
