We now offer the chance for several Summer Trainee positions to gain an insight either into Measurement and Testing Technology or Industrial Engineering,  Industrial Automation and Manufacturing Technology at the Manufacturing Solutions department of Oulu Factory. At the Manufacturing Solutions department, we are responsible for global Base Station manufacturing and testing capability development.
 
Within Measurement and Testing Technology, we have opportunities in 5G, LTE, WCDMA and GSM/EDGE functional testing and process testing development, also may involve construction, troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing production testers using various methods. In addition to this, you may work with tester development in our product programs. As a trainee within Test Engineering you may contribute to HW, SW and electro mechanics design of production test systems in co-operation with R&D.
 
Within Industrial Engineering, Industrial Automation and Manufacturing Technology your main responsibility will be to give technical support to production lines & machines and to maintain & develop manufacturing processes and solutions. You may also participate to Industrial Automation or manufacturing technology development. As a trainee within you will acts as manufacturing or automation engineer in one of the following areas: SMT,  Industrial Engineering and Industrial Automation. In the roles you may contribute to manufacturing automation & technology implementation and development, board assembly and final assembly development or to building up and maintaining production lines, equipment and tools.
 
In addition, we have several Summer Trainee positions in Production and Logistics departments of Oulu Factory. These positions are in area of Production supervision (responsibility for production activities in own shift inc. resource planning, decisions making and prioritizations in order to ensure needed performance against set targets for quality, productivity and on-time delivery), Production planning (responsibility for factory internal & external customer contact, factory supply commitments, production plan based on inputs collected from production and purchasing, and monitors production progress against the plan) and Import & export forwarding team (responsibility for import, export and transportation related tasks including co-operation with external Logistics Service Providers (LSP), different purchasing teams in global Supply Chain Management and also in R&D program area).

Qualifications

 

We expect that you have several years of studies in polytechnic or university.

 

It is a benefit for you if you have some experience or familiarity of some of the followings areas:

  • Production test engineering: HW, SW, electromechanics
  • Industrial engineering including automation, SMT and manufacturing technology
  • Purchasing
  • Logistics
  • Production
  • Quality assurance
  • R&D

 

You can communicate effectively in written and spoken English and work independently or in a small team, from whose members you will get all the support you need. it is necessary that you bring some embedded characteristics with you. Strong negotiating skills with the ability to get your point across to others on the opposite side of the table are the keys to success in this job.

 

For production supervision role we expect that you are at least 18 years old required for shift work. You have several years of studies in polytechnic or university, and it´s a benefit for you to have previous experience in production. You are handy, precise and can learn new things quickly. You are social, have sense of humor and get along with people. Working in three shifts fits your rhythm. We expect good knowledge of both Finnish and English. We value your strong self-initiative and genuine interest in the production-side of telecommunications.
