You will be part of the Cloud and Network Services business group inside Nokia. The Cloud and Network Services business group is a growth engine for Nokia. Our focus is to create value for both service providers and enterprise customers by leading the transition to cloud-native software and as-a-service delivery models as demand for critical networks accelerates.
What you will learn and contribute to
We are looking for Lead Engineer (Technical Manager) working in an international team.
As part of our team, you will:
- Perform Technical expert leadership of the team, working on deployment, integration and testing of Nokia and third-party solutions for 2G/3G/4G/5G Mobile Packet Core
- Help junior team members with troubleshooting and complex integration, help them develop their Packet Core skills and knowledge.
- Consult Project and Presales teams with technical question, help them to understand and escalate technical issues, build realistic solutions and Projects schedules.
- focus on following functional elements: SGSN, GGSN, MME, SGW, PGW, ePDG, TWAG, SSG as well as 5G network functions e.g. AMF, SMF, UPF, NRD and others
- integrate Nokia Packet Core in an end2end environment
- work in openstack and kubernetes based datacenter environments (Redhat,Google Anthos,Amazon AWS,Tanzu,…)
- be upskilled to the latest technological changes related to Mobile Packet Core
Your skills and experience
You have:
- Bachelor and/or Master' Degree in Telecommunication or Information Technology
- Good understanding of telecommunication technologies and protocols with focus on IP and mobile (both voice and data) areas
- Good understanding of virtualization and containerized principles and cloud concept:
- Basic virtualization terms/requirements - threads, cores, hypervisor types, virtualization types, VMs, SR-IOV and other
- VMware, Openstack components
- Containerized solutions / container services
- NFV MANO reference architecture
- Good knowledge on *nix based systems
- IP/MPLS practice knowledge at
- IPv4, IPv6 addressing
- DNS systems and protocols
- IP routing (Static, BGP, OSPF, ISIS)
- MPLS basics (LDP)
- NAT/NAPT
- IPSEC
- DPI
- Team Player & Technical leader with proven ability of self-learning
- Good communication and negotiation skills in Italian and English
- Readiness to travel and work on customer site.
It would be nice if you also had:
- Strong telecommunication technology knowledge in one or more of areas:
- IP, LTE ePC, GPRS, 5G, VoLTE/VoWiFi
- Experience to work with existed standards base:
- ITU-T , 3GPP, IETF
- Practical (testing, troubleshooting) knowledge of the mentioned above technologies
- Valid certificate from list (strongly desirable):
- ALU SRC (NRS2, MRP, 3RP, SRA)
- CISCO professional (CCDA, CCNP, CCIE in any field)
- Juniper SP-track (JNCIS-SP, JNCIP-SP, JNCIE-SP)
- Experience with Nokia products – 9471MME/SGSN, FLEXI NS MME/SGSN, 7750SGW/PGW/GGSN, FLEXI NG SGW/PGW/GGSN, 8650SDM, 5780 PCRF/DSC, NSP CMG, CMM, CBAM
